On Friday 6 November 5000 we reached the downloads of my new book "Corporate Branding "!!!!... Many thanks to all who have contributed to give maximum publicity to the book ...
In my previous book, " Strategic Planning Corporate Image" (1999) have done so far 3 editions of 1500 copies (but never sold all copies, breaks, stocks, etc..). .. That means that in the best case, has sold 4,500 copies ... in 10 years !!!!.
From " Corporate Branding" has been made Downloaded 5,000 times ... in 3 months!! (I hung it on the internet on August 1, 2009). Not to mention that many people who have downloaded the file has shared on your blogs or websites, or sent it to friends and acquaintances by email ... Thus, it is likely that the scope of the downloads are multiplying x2 or x3 ...
This milestone brings me to some thoughts:
This is another example of the degree of diffusion to reach this kind of initiatives and activities connected to the Internet, primarily (and thanks) to the virality ... An example: on Friday, November 6 Carlos Henrique Vilela (Brazil) commented in his blog that could free access to my book (and others). On the same day there were over 250 downloads of the book linked to this post.
is also another example of the phenomenon "Free ": 5000 books have been discharged if he had had to pay something for the book? ... That's a big question. I think not. My intention was never to profit from the sale of the book (if I wanted to make money, they have been published in an editorial "normal"), but to give the wider dissemination of the book and provide access to as many people ... I think the big success of these initiatives on the internet (I consider it a great success that 5000 people have downloaded the book) is closely related to free and open access to content. It is also seen in the great success that some blogs or websites that offer or provide access to free books online (as The Publitec or Virtual Book ).
Well, beyond all thoughts, Thank you all for your interest and your support in the dissemination of books!
And now ... to by 10,000!!
